Mary
Doran graduated from the University of Ulster
in 2003 with a B.A. Honours degree in Fine
Art. Since then she has been working with
oils and bitumen, producing a diverse body
of figurative work. Her image generate a
spiritual energy. Her
work is exhibited both nationally and internationally,
attracting acclaim from distinguished artists
and critics alike.
Mary
has also appeared in a regional BBC television
programme in which she demonstrated her
unusual techniques.
Mary
lectures at Lisburn Institute S.E.R.C and
takes Life Drawing classes at the Island
Arts Centre, Lisburn. During the summer
she runs art workshops, offering a range
of courses for people of all abilities.
These workshops take place in Flexmill
Studios in Dromore, County Down
As
proprietor of the Bronte
Art Gallery, Banbridge, Mary offers
her students the opportunity of exhibiting
their work alongside her own, and that of
other established artists. Visitors to the
Gallery might get the chance to see Mary
at work in her studio, which is just below
the Gallery.
Her
passion for painting has influenced many
other artists across the Province, and her
dedication to teaching is reflected in the
high achievements of her students.
Mary
Doran's unique talent has guaranteed her
reputation as one of Ireland's finest contemporary
artists.
